Livestock Development, LIMS and thematic Discussion forum
The Livestock Information Management System (LIMS) and Livestock Development specialists in the SADC region can join the discussion forum hosted on dgroups to exchange thematic information. The working members of the Livestock thematic sub committees of the SADC Livestock Technical Committee LTC are natural members of such thematic networks. Moreover the forum is open to any potential contributor and any stakeholder involved in the livestock sector in the region, including those in the private sector. The forum is therefore also seen as a free cyber space to promote public private partnerships.
The current SADC sub committees of the LTC are : the APVM&GR Animal Production Veld (Rangelands) Marketing and Genetic Resources sub committee, the EIS (Epidemiology and Informatics) sub committee, the LAB Veterinary Laboratory and Disease Diagnostic sub committee, the VPH-FS Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety sub committee.
New topics for discussion can be proposed at any time during the course of the year. Participation to the Dgroups remain a decision of individuals as they will need to register voluntarily. Nevertheless we recommend strongly that all working members of the sub committees be registered.
